I've been shooting more and more weddings this last year, and it wasn't long before I doubled my 40D bodies.
What a difference it made - no more losing shots switching out lenses. No more switching lenses on beaches of ultra fine sand! Two bodies give me a range from 24mm - 200mm right there with no downtime. For a wedding, that's essential, cos if you 'miss the kiss' while fiddling with lens changes, it may well be your last wedding gig! Just my experience! Ben |

I did find "a reason" to keep the D300. Commander Mode. The D3 can't function as a stand alone commander for Nikon's CLS (a wonderful thing CLS is!).
On the other hand I can get a Nikon r1c1 kit (two strobes and su800 commander and accessories) that work as a macro light kit and also as 2 more strobes for my wireless kit and I'll still have $2k+ left over if I sell the D300 kit.

Yeah, but I could also use the extra strobes and the macro lighting capability. (for what exactly, I don't know)

I have two and I find them useful at events like weddings (even though I'm not shooting pro) you're just going to lose too much by switching lenses
