if it isnt doctored... i'd say its done by lightcurtain
the way bird/wildlife photographers trigger flashes remotely, except in this case the movement triggered the camera.. but thats just a guess OR.. its one hell of a lucky shot.

The out of focus is just too even and the ball (and particularly the edge of it) is just too hard.
