Default the annual taking stock of equipment.

I can't be the only one out there who is a bit OCD when it comes to their equipment.

Every year, around this time, I take a Sunday to myself to get out all of my photography equipment, and I inspect and clean everything. clean all of my filters, inspect the lenses for scratches, and wear. swab the sensor. freshen up batteries. clean out my camera bags of debris and then find out where that lens cap and that one missing CF card was hiding all along.

I'm thinking of going all out this year and running a few tests on my lenses and AF performance, mostly because I've never really have run performance tests on the lenses and that its been eating at me with few issues that I've been having with my lenses, and I just want to make sure that its not the joker behind the viewfinder that's messing it all up.

Does anyone else have a yearly ritual when it comes to making sure that your equipment is all accounted for and in working order?

its like, an early christmas for me.

Except for cleaning my sensor, which I only do when needed.

I account for my gear, and double check to see that everything is in working order before each shoot.

Sometimes a few times a month, sometimes a few times a week. Depending on how busy I am.
