Default 2 new cameras!

I got a call from a friend yesterday who was cleaning out thier house. They wanted to get rid of some camera gear and was wondering if I was interested. So, I said sure, why not!
So I get to her business and she had this big ol box full of stuff.
2 Canons (2L17 & AE1) AND a 50mm lens, 2 macro, a wide angle, a telephoo, a zoom, 4 sets of flashes, a tripod and a bunch of other stuff.
Now, I doubt I'll ever use the bodies but I was looking at adapters for the lenses and am pretty sure I can use one to get the lenses to work on my Olympus.

Yes, and I do every now and then. Truth be told, I am far too impatient now to wait for a roll of film to be full and developed. Plus the only place to develop film here was Wal Mart and they no longer do film

Not sure how easy it is to adapt FD to 4/3. It should be possible, theoretically, but the only adapters I've seen don't allow for infinity focus, and the successful ones are mostly mount adaptions (i.e., the rear mount of the lens was removed and replaced). FD -> µ4/3 you can find adapters all over the place, but for regular four-thirds not so much.

This is the thread I found on fredmiranda.

Wow, cool for you ;-) nice little X-mas bonus LOL I think (pretty sure) you can get an adapter for the canon lens to Olympus body, but I don't know that you'll be happy with the results ;-( I got the adapter for my old OM 50mm lens, and was not too happy with what I got. Btwn the 4/3rds issue and the small viewfinder (you have the 520 right?) and man. focus only...I too was given an old camera a week or so ago, had a really nice lens,
45mm, I wanted to put it on the 520, but was told that with the 4/3rds, it would reduce it to 18X13.5 I believe...bummer. Adapters are cheap though, $15 on ebay, give it a shot, and let us know how it works out. Maybe you'll have better luck than me, and will share your tips!

I have quite a few Olympus om lenses that I have found work really well. I was wondering about the adapter for the Canon tho. Will have to check it out. At 15 bucks it cant hurt!

You don't have probs with the focus? Maybe I need my eyes checked ;-) I thought about getting a chipped adap ring, that way at least I would know if I was in the ballpark of focus LOL. Although, I don't have a prob. with man. focus with the dslr lens....curious....

Now that you mention it there we of photos from the last wedding I did that I couldnt figure out why a couple of the faces were not very crisp. I chalked it up to that was the first time I had used that OM lens. Now you have me thinking
