This may sound weird but how about hominy? I guess I'm just wondering what kind of effect you would get from that gritty substance. You'd probably have to use some food coloring because that bland color wouldn't be very appealing. Please post the shot once you decide, it'll be great to see what you do with whatever you choose!

I just thought about one more. What about haricot vert? I wonder what it would like like if you were shooting into a bunch of them. I have no idea about the logistics but thought it may look cool.
