Default Missed call!

Does this annoy you? Someone keeps calling me but never leaves a message and when I press "missed call" its says "private number". This has happened about 5 times this week. I'm sure its the same person calling. The first time while I was driving, the second time when I was in a meeting, the third time while I was cooking and didn't hear my phone ring and at other ad hoc times. Its driving me nuts! Why don't they just leave a message and I'll call back! grrrr

That's super annoying. I think that next time you should answer it and ask them what they're wearing and then hit 'em with the heavy breathing. I doubt they'll call back.

Those are the ones I just never answer... I just let them ring. If it comes up on my Caller ID as "Private Number", odds are good it's a sales call, and there's no message I'm just confirming my suspicion that they're one of the many call centres trying to sell me something. I say no point in getting annoyed over the Private Numbers who don't leave messages.

If I don't recognize the number, I send it to voice mail. If they really want to talk to me, they will leave a message. If they don't leave a message, then it probably was an automated dialer, and a live person doesn't talk until they get a live person, not an answering machine or voice mail.

My answering machine at home says in a computer generated voice "Please leave a message after the tone".

Your probably right. It probably is a sales call. I like those sales calls. I see it as "free" sales training. I keep them hanging on doing their spiel and then say no right at the end. Its funny. Still, its annoying as I keep missing these "training sessions".

For several years after starting my business, my contact number was my cell number. after about 3 years I finally got a land line to my home office and began advertising that. I still get many calls like yours, and have learned to ignore them. Many are sales as everyone is trying to make a "sale" just to earn a buck in this economy and some, well, are just completely rude individuals who will not take "no thanks" for an answer. I have even had to hang up on occasion because they just keep talking... I always send private and unknown calls as well as most unknown area code numbers to VM. No message left by them, I'm quite happy!

We get such calls, often at supper time..If it,s a number I don't recognize on the call display, I leave it to go to the answering line. It probably is a computer generated call for some sales promo.

That was about the only calls I ever got on my landline so I no longer have a phone plugged into it. If I could 'unplug' my letterbox I'd be even happier....too much junk so I don't bother reading anything that comes though the door usually.

Email is much the same....too much junk so I don't really use it.
