I actually got my Christmas gift a few weeks back, as I wanted to use it to shoot the family Christmas gathering this year. I got some financial assistance in purchasing a Pentax 50mm f/1.4 lens which I love very much already for Christmas. I also may be getting a gift card to a local camera shop in the family gift exchange this year, which I plan on applying against my purchase of a Vivitar 285HV flash unit. Between it and the fast prime I expect I'll be able to see in the dark with my camera!

I got the Canon 35/2 lens for my Rebel XTi that I was pining for. My family went together on it - they live across the country and enjoy the pictures I post so in a way, it was a gift for them too. I am so in love with it!

Oh, and they let me open it early so I can use it to take pictures of all our Christmas festivities.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting a workshop/seminar as a gift. I got one two Christmases ago, and it was wonderful. The entire family chipped in to get me both the seminar and the airfare to fly out for it.

I'm definitely giving photo-related presents this year, as well. Everything from a digi-frame for my mom to a gorillapod for my brother-in-law to calendars for the whole family, and everything in-between.

Well, since it was my birthday and graduation from grad school last week, and I got my new camera for that, does that count? Afterwards my father bought me my first tripod, and last night I bought my remote for self portraits for the family shots for the holidays. I think this is going to become an expensive hobby!

Hope Santa's bringing me a new, bigger, kit bag as I've out-grown my Lowepro Slingshot..... (hence the tag at the end of my posts)

Merry Xmas to all

Well, yes - probably not the way you meant, cus it's not a present. I bought myself a Nikon SB-600 flash and i allready have it. So it's like...a early present from me...to... me

(and i love it! )

Nothing wrong with a present to yourself ... as long as you consider it a Christmas present to yourself, even if it is early.

Another Christmas gift from me to me

Technically not camera gear, but I'm buying myself a new external hard drive, to back up my images.
