Default NFL Game lens regulations...

I'm going to the Chargers Dallas game this sunday on a VIP pass. I'm not sure where I'll be but my new canon xs just came today. I'd like to bring it with the kit lens however I had a question about the measurements. This is from theri website:

Quote:
Cameras

Compact Cameras (still only) are permitted inside Cowboys Stadium as long as their use does not interfere with the game or other guests' enjoyment of the event. Tripods, monopods and cameras with lens' longer than 3" (detachable or non-detachable) will NOT be permitted into Cowboys Stadium. Video cameras and video recording of events at Cowboys Stadium is prohibited.
Now is that including the camera or just the lens? I believe the kit lens is 2.7" Can someone confirm if the camera will be allowed in? Thanks.

I have with going to Baseball games, and the regulations are different from stadium from to stadium. I do not see why the NFL would be different in that regard then the MLB.

Looks like no DSLRS are allowed at all, only small point and shoots, even some of the higher end point and shoots with 12x optical zooming won't be allowed since some extend out pretty far.

They want you taking pictures of the crowd and not the game basically as it would appear.

That is super lame. Just another reason to call it the No Fun League.

I don't see what the big deal is letting people in with their cameras. I understand if they have some 1600mm lens with them but even a 70-200 or even a 400 mm lens isn't really going to be able to compete with the professional photographers on the sidelines with the same or even longer lens.

Yea like a big lens will get in someones way but a three foot foam finger they sell at the game won't bother anyone!

Who cares, leave the camera at home and enjoy the game. You won't get any worthwhile pictures unless you are on the sidelines with the pros anyway.

I was at Twickenham to watch a rugby game recenlty. The bloke in front of me had a Canikon with kit lens and kept standing up an takings shots the whole game, he can't of had much time to enjoy the rugby and will have a lot of very similar shots to this one I took with my camera phone as I sat down before the game.

twickers before

If you only want a few snaps of the stadium and your friends etc then just take a phone or compact.
