Default What are your photography goals for '10

What are your aspirations and goals for next year? One of mine is to get accredited by the Royal Photographic Society and achieve a Licentiateship and get letters after my name. Rachel Gingell LRPS!! It may take a while but that's what I am working towards next year.

The Royal Photographic Society

What about you? What do you want to achieve? What are your goals?

Spooky....was just talking with my Dad last night about doing an RPS or PAGB. Not that it's top of my list of things I want to achieve next year - I want to get to grips with tilt and shift movements and be able to use them in macro shots. I also want to do higher magnification macros than I've done before - hopefully up to around 20x lifesize. Then if I can get to grips with both those thing seperately I can put them together for extreme tilt and shift macro I've never seen it done before but as Jeremy Clarkson would say..."how hard can it be"

Have some sort of gallery showing. I'd love to finally get one of these many projects i've had swirling in my head for a while off the ground.

Finally build a soft box, and some other lighting equipment so I start dabbling in studio and product photography. diyphotography.net has so many great toy ideas I don't know where to start.

I also want to do some portraiture out of a studio setting. Both with "modern people" and staged historical re-enactors.

Finally, I hope to enter my photos in a couple of county fairs just for fun.

1. Take more photos. Take more in RAW.

2. Take better photos. Learn more. Figure out how to have better white balance especially in my friend's house where I can never get it right.

3. Take the time to post process more often, and add to my collection of shots that I'm proud of.

4. Hopefully: start to get an idea of my "voice" or angle in how I photograph. Creating images rather than capturing photos. Figure out where I want to take photography as a hobby or as a way to make a little money.

1. Improve my studio lighting
2. Get perfect exposure every time (just ordered a Delta 18% grey card)
3. Get perfect white balance every time (just ordered a Digital Grey Kard)
4. Upgrade my website
5. Upgrade my equipment (go full frame and get better lenses)
6. Improve my skills in post processing
7. Upgrade to CS4

That's all I can think of for now!

1. Build a flash website
2. Purchase some new gear including a 5D mrk2
3. Shooting 9-14 Weddings
4. Start selling fine-art prints on my site
5. Get a couple studio strobes

I am sure there is more but this is all I can think of on the top of my head.

I tell ya. 09 was a rough year. I had some pretty amazing things happen as well as some serious heartaches.
For 2010 so far I would hope to achieve a better level of photography. By that I mean I am always looking to improve my work.
I'd like to pay off my computer equipment, that would be a big one and I want a great big huge lens and a new panel for my new booth
