Default blog type web site

So, I do a lot of photography and would like to have perhaps a blog website. I can't afford to have someone design one for me, so could anyone suggest some good sites to go to. I have looked at zenfolio and prophotoblog, but I'm not sure yet which way I want to go. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I personally use Blogger (Cliffs and Ruins), which is a standard blogging website. It's free and very easy -- you can edit the CSS yourself if you want, or use predefined styles.

Zenfolio is NOT a blog-style website. It's a photo selling website. You can add text to the photo pages, but it is first and foremost a photo gallery/selling site -- not a blog. I use zenfolio, but for selling, not for blogging!

I also use Blogger. I have found it very easy to use.

If you are looking for a way to sell pictures, and don't want to spend money, you might want to try Photoswarm.

Blogger is all you need. Zenfolio is for selling. If you want to sell, get a SmugMug.

I tried different blog platforms and I think Wordpress is one of the best option. There are millions of plugins to display photos you uploaded or from Flickr, share videos, have easy SEO,... Also, you can find loads of great free themes online so you don't necessarily have to bother with css.

You can start by a free wordpress.com account.
Usually, people buy a domain name to replace the xxxxx.wordpress.com.
Later, if you're getting serious, you can even buy a web hosting service to install your blog and import your content from wordpress.com so you can be free to do whatever you want with it. (not sure this is possible with blogger)

Godaddy has all kinds of hosting stuff (blogs, whole sites, whatever), but I would not go with them. You can redirect your domain to any of the other places you've talked about (such as Blogger, Zenfolio, Smugmug, etc.). Just because you bought your domain through them, doesn't mean you have to use them for any of your actual data or sites -- you ONLY bought the name.

If you have your own domain you can host a Wordpress blog on it and you'll be able to customize as you like. I have 5 blogs on my domain My project365 is linked below, and if you click on Home at the top then on Journal, you'll see my scrapping/designing blog as well. Those 2 are my main ones.
