Default The Essential Guide to Portrait Photography

Have any of you purchased this e-book? I purchased it immediately after opening the e-mail announcing it. I've been reading it in my spare time, and there is a lot of good information in there - not that I expected anything else, really.

The main reason I bought it is because I want to support Darren and DPS. He has a great thing here, and I wanted to help out even if it is in a small way. But, I also wanted to have a good reference where "all" the portrait information is consolidated. This site is great, but sometimes I hate trying to sift through hundreds of threads to find a topic I'm looking for.

What are your thoughts/opinions on this e-book?

I haven't read it, but I have scanned thru the book and it's chocked full of info from e-cover to e-cover.

The book looks great! Pretty much bought it immediately...

I skimmed through it in it's e-form and could tell that it has a lot of information so...

I printed it in all of it's colorful glory!

thanks for buying it people.

we've sold a lot of them and its certainly going to help improve the site.

Just a note though - the 25% off launch discount ends in a bit under 48 hours so if you're going to grab a copy make sure you get it at the cheaper price!

Default Guarantee

Hi Darren;
Your a hard man to get a hold of when someone wants a refund. Hope I don't sound too rude but I have yet to here from you about your money back guarantee on these e books. I have requested a refund on my purchase of Photo Nuts and Bolts but have not heard from anybody. Its been several weeks now.
I love this site a lot. It is loaded with great tips, etc.
So I was thinking you could apply my credit to the e book that I have been waiting for and that is The Essential Guide to Portrait Photography. How bout it Darren?
I know I will like that one for sure. Its just that the other one had everything that I already knew about so it was no use to me.
Please get back to me soon.

It's really quite hard to give a refund on something that can't really be 'returned'.

OMG, that made me spit my drink out my nose. Funny, not sure why though, probably my skewed sense of humour.

Well, he did state a "money back guarantee". so the guy is well within his rights to request a refund. No need to mock the guy is there, would it be funny if it was you that was unhappy with your purchase?

FriedChicken can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think (s)he was attempting to mock Markdr.

He/She was just pointing out the fact that an e-book cannot really be "returned." There's no way to properly return the e-book other than deleting the file when the refund is given. It's basically going on the honor system.

If Darren wants to offer refunds on e-books, that's fine. I wouldn't, but that's just me. There's nothing preventing anyone from requesting a refund, getting it, and then continuing to distribute the book to friends, colleagues, etc.

Thanks guys for your support on this one. I go by the honor system too. In fact I have deleted the e book from my hard drive. There isn't any body that would be interested in this e book that I know of up here anyway. My friends are not photographers. lol

I love this site but I just wish that I could get this behind me. I still have not heard from Darren or DPS. So if any body out there can contact them or give me a phone number I would appreciate it. Like I said I would put the credit to the purchase of The Essential Guide to Portrait Photography instead. I don't know anything about that field so I know I would use it all the time.
