they said it is for gay person * (this is NOT my view)

I am using Canon, and sometime I got annoyed by people saying Canon is rubblish!

and I will try to protect my Canon in every way that I can

Why would I do this?

I don't have a problem with Canon users at all, and I shoot a Nikon. I am always looking at others equipment and their work when I can. I look at it as a chance to grow and appreciate others and their styles.

It dosen't matter to me, people who have to result to saying one brand is better then the other are just gear heads.

I've heard that some people have pretty strong feelings about what other photographers shoot with. I know Scott Bourne, a fairly well known naturre/landscape photographer received death threats when he switched from Canon to Nikon. Some people take it very seriously, but I don't get why. Unless you have a personal investment, financial or otherwise, it just doesn't make any sense to have strong feelings about what someone else buys or uses. The images I make aren't any better or worse because of the gear someone else is using, so the question is piontless to me.

I agree with what other posters are saying. It's a personal preference. I shoot Nikon and so does one of my best friends. The only thing that makes us happy about it is that we can borrow each other's gear. I have another friend who shoots Canon which is fine by me, her images aren't any less stunning because of the brand of her camera. I think it's all silliness. Why would someone want to concentrate on what makes us different when we all have the common bond of loving photography?

If we were able to give Rep on this site, I would give you good rep for that.
Before we start a Mac vs Windows or iPod vs Zune argument..
Remember, it's about who is using the camera that matters.
But, I must say, there are things about Canon that makes me choose them over Nikon
That doesn't mean I disrespect Nikon shooters though, it doesn't matter to me what they use.

Same thing when you hear people talk about Bronco/Raider fans. It can get very violent towards the other.

Juvenile if you ask me

I have no problem with either. When I first started looking at DSLRs, I was looking at Nikon and had one sort of picked out. My husband surprised me with a Canon, and I love it. I've used Nikon before as well as Canon, and they're both excellent. I have more experience with Canon, so I naturally prefer it because it's what I'm used to, but if someone offered me a brand new D700 for free I sure wouldn't turn it down.

I'm a pretty loud proponent of the system I use, but mostly because I just want to remind people there's more choice than they tend to initially realize. Different manufacturers do make design decisions differently, and I like the decisions Pentax has made. I also personally think there's a different carnal feeling that Pentax primes give you that I've yet to find in another lens maker, and not even all the Pentax primes have it. While I like my FA35mm/2.0, and it's still my go to walk around lens, it doesn't invoke the lust that picking up the rented DA70mm did, and I hear that the FA77mm on the way is even worse for that.
