Default Things You Have to Shoot

What kinds of shots can you not take?

There seem to be categories of shots I'm morally obligated to take. For example, I can't go to the beach without taking pictures of crashing surf:

Breaker at Pigeon Point

...and...

Breaker, Bean Hollow State Beach

Then there's my penchant for rust:

Random Rusty Nail

...or...

Hm, I never really thought about that. But the kind of situation that makes me take the camera out every time are those where some strong mood is felt, for example a dramatic sky or sun rays bursting through the fog. I try to capture it (and don't make it every time, of course).

I love shooting rusted metal, too, but the shots I cannot resist are of dogs, specifically dog faces. Can't get enough.

Gorgeous baby and gorgeous photo, Electricblue! I think i fell in love. Wish i had such good pics of my kids when babies, but i wasn't interested in photography then...

As for things i cant stop shooting, other then my kids, are flowers... Each time i see a beautiful flower, i have to shoot it... And my girls are my best models. If im addicted to photography my oldest daughter got addicted to modeling so works fine for both of us.

I shoot lots of flowers. I'm still trying to get a "good" one.

Edit:
I did get a second place with this one at my club's last digital competition.
