Default What should I get next for my d60?

I want to setup a home studio with some backdrops and lights. I also want to be able to get some better shots outdoors with some reflectors. I have a D60 with 2 lenses. Eventually I will upgrade to a better lens, but right now I want to focus on lighting.

So if you had about $500 to spend what would you get? I plan on getting some fabrics and make my own backdrops. I am going to build that with some piping.

So as far as lighting what should I do? (Besides the obvious of purchasing a flash which I am leaning towards the SB600.) I am thinking also a white balancer, polarizing lenses, external light sources with umbrellas or softboxes and a reflector with a stand.

Some type of remote triggering system will really be needed, be it a PC Sync cable or a Wireless system like a Pocket Wizard.

A polarizing lens has little to do with your studio set up.

There are a zillion solutions to finding proper white balance that are free.

Umbrellas are lower cost and easier to set up than most soft boxes.

If you can swing it, the SB900 is sooooo much nicer.

Get a coupon for your local craft store and get a full bolt of white muslin. You can make three really large backdrops out of it, more if you don't go so long.

$500?

1 SB600 and 1 SB800 +1 slave trigger or 2 SB600's +2 slave trigger (not as good IMO. You could also go with a wireless trigger system, but then there's not much point in going with the SB600 and up.)
Sync Cable
Ebay Flash stands and umbrellas (shoot thru/bounce)
5 in 1 reflector- 36"

That'll kill 500 +/-

Unfortunately, the D60 doesn't have the ability to use it's popup flash as a commander so you kind of need the 2nd flash for CLS functionality. Use the SB800 as commander with sync cable to get it off camera. You could also then still use both flashes off camera with a simple trigger for the SB600. (the SB800 has TU-4 mode- optical triggered)
