I've been playing with Quickbooks but was wondering if there might be something else out there that you all might be using that you like, and why?

Would love to actually enter an inventory and be able to track what has sold and to whom by pc

I hated Quickbooks business...I used Peachtree which was way too much for what I needed. Now I'm just "paper".

But, one product I would suggest taking a look at is the free version of InFlow. It's a more expensive program if you ever needed to upgrade though.

If you are MAC only, InFlow won't work for you.
There is an Open Source solution called xTuple. No experience with it though.

Currently, I deal a lot thru paypal and they have simple invoicing capabilities.

Thanks for the info. The xtuple one doesnt give a whole lot of information about it. As far as navigation and such. I am thinking I may check out the InFlow deal when i get home

I use Paypal for just sales, but am needing something a bit more detailed. Something to track expenses, sales. Keep track of clientele, bills, inventory and that sort of thing

There are various accounting templates available with openoffice.org which might be worth looking at?

While I don't have any suggestions for you to check out, I do have some advice for you concerning Quickbooks. I would not use their product unless you absolutely had to. A couple of years ago they implemented a "sunset clause", which allows them to disable core features of Quickbooks, thereby forcing you to upgrade every two years.

I can understand if they don't want to support an aging product, but to disable key features on software you've paid a lot of money for just isn't right I don't care how legal it is.

Depending upon the volume you're doing a simple spreadsheet may suffice. Mac or PC?

Thanks for the info on Quickbooks. I was almost going to try the free version and opted out.
Sk66, I downloaded the InFlow software and so far I am really really liking it! Spent hours last night enetering data from the last year and am nearly done.
Thanks for the suggestion! So far, its worth its weight in gold!
