Default Almost a disaster

Shot a wedding on Saturday. 6 hours later I was totally exhausted but still had a few family and friend sets to do. So I finally got everyone to come outside as they had thier reception in a basement with very very few lights and wanted to get some decent shots.
Finally got done and had to run quick. I had to finish helping the fire department with a fund raiser for out toy drive and then my grandbabies would soon be arriving.
Well, I usually will wear my vest with all the pockets so I can carry with a couple of extra lens for those just in case moments when you have to switch real quick. But, they had th eheat cranked and I was dying so I was just carrying by hand my smaller lens.
So this morning I had to photograpgh my grandbabies and went for my favorite lens. It was gone! My heart sank and almost failed on me. So I jumped into my car at 7am with my jammies still on and and raced to the church. Lo and behold my lens was still sitting on the parking block that I had set it on. Will never do that again!

Whoah!! Sounds like a crazy day. And that really stinks you left the lens! So glad you got it back, and that it wasn't damaged.

Wow. I know the feeling. I thought I had lost (how do you lose a lens?!) my Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens after not finding it with my other gear or nearby.

Horrible feeling.

I lost the photos of a kids party I shot for friends last week
I had the day before, the day after, but this party (fully edited) had vanished. I can only think that my 5 year old hit a delete file button and then I emptied my recycle bin without checking what was in it. (I do this twice a week to get rid of unwanted RAW files that hog space.

I had even called the friend to bring round a flash disk to copy with and imagine my horror when it was not there !!! It was terribly embarrassing!

Fortunately a this weekend I was checking through my CF cards (8gig) and I found the entire party safely in place!

Lesson learnt!

Dodged a bullet there; I'm always afraid I'll forget my gear somewhere. Good thing you realized you had lost it so fast. If you didn't realize for a few days odds are that lens would be history.

Wow! That was the whole gamut of emotions tightly packed in a few hours. You'll need a couple of days just to get over it all.
