Default How do you justify the expense?

I'm looking at buying a D3, but it's killing me! I WANT it, but I can't seem to be really comfortable with the purchase.....
I have a D300 and a bunch of high end lenses, and I always carry my G10 which I've been using more than the D300 for the last many months...
The D300 is better for wildlife photography, the G10 is better for street photography.....but full frame and great low light usability!
Maybe I'll just wait until I find I really need one..by then technology will have advanced greatly anyways...
Maybe I'll buy it and sell the D300....

HELP!

"You only cry once when you buy quality"

That advice has gotten me through many a tough decision.

Im in a similar situation. Due to an irrelevant circumstance, I do have the funds for a D3 (hell, a D3x and then some!) but I'm biding my time for it.

I still use my Nikon D50 professionally, everyday, and I have just purchased a Panasonic G1 twin lens kit, that I use for Rights Managed editorial images. they do a good enough job-and I can fit them, (both complete kits and 3 flash guns) in a bag light enough to carry all day. Ken

Well its really simple. How did you decide to buy the D300 rather than a D40 / D60 or any other camera. Only you can determine if you will get satisfaction out of purchasing the D3. Will you enjoy it? Will it hurt you financially? Only you can make that trade-off.

Depends on what my wife thinks of the purchase when she finds out!

I *should* get it....... Heck, I NEED it for the coffee table book I'm going to make! I'll be wealthy then and the expense will have paid for itself......

There you go! Maybe just keep it on the down low from the wife until you become wealthy.
