LOL! I was just now frustrated by the high ISO noise of my D300 when shooting for this weeks assignment....of course, I could have set the settings a little better.

Due to worldwide shortage, I had to shoot with a D300 for four months before getting my D3. While the D300 is a great camera, the D3 is awesome. When pairs with the 24-70 f/2.8, everything is almost instant due to a better AF system. Set Auto ISO to 6400 and you can forget flash. Its build-in motor drives AF-D lenses better than the D300 and very nice having dual cards' storage. Besides well-known features, the finer details put D3 apart from D700. Integrated grip, third LCD, voice recorder, buttons at your finger tips etc. One has to use the Nikon F? and D? series to appreciate a well-designed body. The D3 is a solid camera with integrated grip. The D700/D300 grip has a different sensitivity shutter button and you need D3 battery and charger to gain high fps. I use the third LCD and dedicated buttons a lot to change the ISO & WB and the voice recorder to note custom WB banks and reference shots. You don't need to carry a separate level or trying to remember where you kept the eyepiece cover. The only issue I have is that I'm no longer care about new camera announcements anymore. It is boring without lusting for future upgrade. If you can buy a D3 without looking at its price then it is the camera for you. Last edited by LoveDSLR; 11-08-2009 at 09:25 PM. |
