I would like to add to this list, The Digital Photography Book Vol.2 by Scott Kelby.
It is different than vol 1, and a great companion book.

I have Peterson's Understanding Exposure, Langford's Starting Photography, Kelby's Digital Photography and Digital SLRs and Photography for Dummies.

I love the Peterson and Langford books. I'm just reading the Kelby book now and it's a different read to the other two. He has quite a sense of humour and it makes a lighter read because of this.

thanks NP now I just spent 60 bucks on amazon for books!
Im interested the lee frost books on low light and night shots and they suggested i get the filters one from him also so of course i got it too....lol!

I personally like Tom Ang's books. He seems to break things down easiest for me when I was getting into it.
