Hi
i did an online photography course a few months ago. it was not very detailed, but it was very good and interesting. you learn the basic details you need to know as a beginner. then it's up to your practice and creativity to improve! it's called photographyicon. i hope this helps you audrey

Not exactly photography, but for post processing - I really liked lynda.com courses.. they are great if you are going to dedicate a good chunk of time to learning a piece of software of your choice... not as good if you are planning to spend a couple of hours per week though, because they charge you by the month for unlimited acess.

I have done a couple of on line courses through UWA Extension, in Western Australia, although most of the students seemed to be from USA. The course went for 6 weeks - 2 lessons per week, with assignments, links to further reading, posting samples on line for critique, you can ask and get answers to questions, then there was a "test" at the end. I found the course really good, although the critiques were often a bit "airy fairy" - not constructive enough for me.
