Default Teather

Well My son and I have it all set up to my laptop( that I had to buy for this). I have to say that it is very cool, I can even shoot the camera from the laptop as well change all the settings.

I think its helps alot (being tethered), seeing the shots that you've taken. I just can't get a good look in the screen on camera. Of course, you can't do it everywhere all the time, but when you can, its a great help.

I find the teathering technique very useful when using macro extension tubes - with the Canon software you can zoom in & adjust focus + preview the DoF,

I tether for time-lapse. I use gphoto2 to control the camera (free, very featureiffic). It's great, but requires a lot more equipment in the field.

I've tried it out a few times it's really handy in studio situations. I suggest anyone that is able to tether give it a shot next time they are taking pictures in a light box.
