Lightbulb Your dream photography destination?

Imagine you could go anywhere in the world to photograph anything. Money and gear are no object. Where would you go, and why?

You could go to some foreign country doing photojournalism for National Geographic. Or a high-end fashion studio in Europe. Or at a Hollywood film set, taking behind-the-scenes set photos. Would you go into the darker, less-seen places of the concrete jungle, exploring storm drains and snapping interesting graffiti? Perhaps you'd enjoy underwater photography at the Great Barrier Reef? Or capturing the last rays of sunlight before a six month arctic night? It could even be in your own backyard, taking macro shots of a dragonfly on a lilypad... or even just taking some photos of your kids at play.

It could be anything. Just let your imagination go... and let's see some example pics, if you have!

I've had a fascination with Middle and South America since I was a child — Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Brazil. I'm particularly enthralled by the pre-Columbian ruins, like the ones at Tikal and Palenque. To see them up close in real life would be a dream come true for me. Standing in the middle of a steaming jungle, full of life and dense greenery, is another lifelong longing. Just thinking about it is enough to give me gooseflesh!

Beyond that... Socotra, an island off the horn of Africa, technically a part of Yemen. I mean... look at that place. It's got some of the weirdest, most beautiful vegetation I've ever seen in my life.

I'm going to be hitting one of them next year. My wife is "making" me go to Hawaii for 2 weeks. While I'm there, I'm going to take shots of as many of my relatives as I can for my Dad.

I have to say Greece - it has most of what I love...... Ocean, mountains, climate, ruins, history galore... Just a dream...

I'd have to say the assignment for the Sports Illustrated Calendar girls on a remote island in the South Pacific

I have already been one place Alaska. My Alaska pictures are on my website.(Insert shameless promotion here). My next place would have to be somewhere in Central America.

The world. lol No, really, I would like to visit a lot of "strange" and unusual places, like India, rural China, Tibet, Mongolia, Bhutan, South America, Iran, Israel, Africa and also those dark unseen places of concrete jungles, as you say it. Basically everything that is unknown and hidden from our western world. But not Hollywood.

I'd also like to go to the Shaolin Temple in China to learn from and photograph the monks.
