Saw this article tonight in a paper here in the UK and just thought I would share it with you all to let you see the outstanding images here.

I agree. It just doesn't look quite right. The small bird looks a bit off.

I would think the hawk would be more responsive, also.

I've seen small birds like redwing blackbirds attack hawks and crows to protect their nests by pecking the back or the hawk's head. But they usually flutter there or make a series of passes, not land. I agree the photo does look a bit posed, no sense of action, but I couldn't say for sure it was faked.

That's too cool!

In March of 08 I captured a series of a Hawk attempting an attack on an Eagle nest.

The Hawk lost.

Not near as interesting as a bird catching a ride on another's bird.

Hi all,
didnt really post it to see if it was real or not (must just be me being as I realise the old addage "The camera never lies" is not true any more). I have known much smaller animals defend their offspring against the odds so thought this might be real. Now not so sure? Who knows eh....
