Thumbs up Coming home with a D700 tomorrow!...sort of.

I dream of a D700, and tomorrow I will be bringing one home. One catch, when my dad comes to visit over Thanksgiving, he is taking it with him. He lives in Atlanta and nobody has one in stock. The only one in Tulsa is arriving tomorrow, and he's already got dibs on it. So, he is buying it here and I am picking it up and babysitting it until he comes to visit. I will have 3.5 weeks to drool, play, and enjoy what I can only imagine is a dream. It's going to hurt when I have to go back to the ol' D200. I think what I will lust over the most will be the usable ISO range.

Has he checked online? I find it hard to believe a camera that debuted a year and a half ago is that hard to find.

He isn't comfortable dropping that much online vs. a brick & mortar. I personally called 12 stores around Atlanta for him, only two I could find were two display models at two Wolf Cameras. I finally found one that was/is expected to arrive in Tulsa today. All the stores offered to order one for him, but all had eta's 4-6 weeks out and still not guaranteed. He has some trips coming up and wants to ensure he has one, so...long story........I'm going to get to play with my dream camera for a few weeks.

...awesome.
