Default Questions you are afraid to ask

I've noticed that some people are very nervous about asking what they deem as "stupid" questions. Take my friend Louise. I took some photos of her kids the other day and showed them to her on my pc and she was thrilled and ordered a few. Later on I texted her to ask whether she wants gloss or matt and she text back saying gloss - but will the paper stick to the glass once in a frame? I couldn't help but giggle! It seemed such a funny question to ask but its something that obviously bothered her.

I don't ever make anyone feel uncomfortable when asking questions.

Maybe some people (me included) dont like asking questions sometimes because the think they SHOULD already know the answer... I hate when I know the answer already.. but I second guess myself and ask away!

Then again there are many times when i "think" I know the answer only to be shown that I am so far out in left field I might as well be in the parking lot!

She asked a valid question. Prints have a tendency to stick to the frame glass if they are in direct contact with it for a period of time due to temperature and humidity changes, especially a glossy finish. It's best to keep the print and glass separated by mounts or a matte.

This is just my personal taste and opinion, but a matte finish under glass looks better than a glossy finish under glass. Too much 'shine' with both the gloss and the glass.

I work in photofinishing and sales: you'd be amazed at the amount of people that dont know the difference between matte and glossy.

i cant tell you how many times I have asked a question and then when I got the answer felt really stupid cause it was so simple. But I'd never forget the answer to that one, ever again.
