i use matte finish too...since it will be framed behind glass the shine is not needed in my eyes....just another layer to add reflection and glare!

Mostly matte but it depends on who I want the print for. (Mum expects photos to be glossy or they don't look right but she is 75 you know
)

Depends on what the picture is for and who it is for. For some reason parents like the shiny. So for all the kid shots I do Moms and Dads get shiny. If it is to be framed most of the time its matte. Oh and I am well thanks for asking.

I only just started to print out photographs. So far I just have glossy paper. I'll be getting some matt paper too when I can find it in stock somewhere near me.

Depends on the purpose and what paper i have on hand...
Just got a new printer, so been trying lots of different papers too. I mainly use glossy at home though and matte if i'm getting prints done from the shop. It also depends on the size of print, and what it will be used for. My snapshots go into little folders with borders, but are all glossy, my portfolio and select hung photo's are matte. I find it also depends on the subject matter, be it finer art, or just the niece and nephew. ike, |

I've always done everything in gloss. This summer I took a picture at a day wedding and that evening sent it to Walmart.com to print so that I could give the 8x10 to the bride's parents the next day. When I picked it up I found that all the 1hr / 1day stuff was done matte. I was actually very impressed with it (both the photo and the finish). Thus, I will probably do some more matte stuff in the future.
