Default Traveling To NYC... Photo Equip Check List?

Hey! So I'm a graduate student studying architecture and we are traveling to New York City do an Architectural tour of the city. I'm of course bringing my DSLR (Nikon D5000). Here is what I'm bringing...

Camera
18-55mm Lens
55-200mm Lens
Cross Screen Filter

I would bring my tri-pod but from what I remember last time I was in NYC it was way too busy to stop on the sidewalk and take a tripod pic. Other than that, that's pretty much all I own.

I know a lot of the time I will be in a decent amount of shadow, so gonna have to work with the settings... just wondering if there is anything I should go out and grab last minute for the trip that would be helpful capturing the architecture and energy of NYC?

I am not sure what part of the city you are referring to, but you should definitely bring your tripod. Get out of the touristy areas and you won't have a problem.

I also like having a UWA lens, because sometimes the roads aren't wide enough to get as far away from your subject as you need to be to get the entire building in frame.

Even in the touristy areas when i was there the other month i would say it wasn't overly busy - less so than London - and if you're of the mindset then you'll be able to set your tripod up....
