It sounds to me like they are using the "spray and pray" method of shooting. Essentially making it "rain" paintballs. Not a lot of marksmanship is needed of that kind of shooting.

Not sure how familiar with paintball, but basically there's two types. What the video shows are kids playing speedball. The objective is eliminate all enemy opponents. Two teams start a short distance away from each other, say 25-35 yards. What both teams usually do is send a lot of paint down the different paths as to catch the opponents coming out of start.

The other type is woodsball where teams are sometimes acres apart and games can last upwards of a half hour.

But basically you're right. Not a lot of markmanship in speedball.
Maybe a little too much information.

What a quick action you've got there, sounds like firing at 20 sps (that shots per second )! I plan to try paintball when I have the opportunity.

Windrider, it's fun! You should definitely try it out if you ever get the chance.

Quo Fan - I have to disagree on the "spray and pray" part. I know that's what it sounds like but I play paintball and I watched them play the whole tournament. While you are right about them shooting as much paint as possible in the beginning (they are capped at 10bps), there is a great deal of accuracy involved. Spray and pray generally is beginners that don't know where to shoot, so they just shoot everywhere from the break. In speedball, as spencer mentioned, they shoot down "lanes" where their opponents are most lilkely to cross in the very beginning, to try to eliminate some of the competition. The rest becomes a very in your face type of game where accuracy is everything because they have to shoot a very small target usually just peaking out the side of a bunker whithout getting shot themselves.

Thanks for sharing the description. I still have to politely disagree on the markmanship though but that debate is best reserved for paintball forums

They are actually capped at 10bps in the tournaments. Even the pro teams are capped at 12bps, but since there are so many players shooting at once it certainly sounds like more.. Definitely give it a try if you ever get the chance. It's a lot of fun!

That's why I prefer the "out in the woods in full-camo" variety. Also means you can up the PSI on the tanks for the extra range.

That, or airsoft.
