Default Question...

My question is: Is it possible to have 2 shutter buttons on a DSLR??

I saw this photographer with a Canon (not sure of the model) and I guess he had a battery grip on it. Whether he was shooting in portrait or landscape, it appeared as though the shutter button was always on the top. So, do they make a grip with some sort of second shutter button?

Thanks.

One on top and one on bottom.

I too was fascinated when I first saw this. I was actaully taking pictures of a bunch of kids and was distracted from doing my job. HOW EFFICIANT !
I googled it and apparently it is all about the grip. I swear that I saw a camera that came with it, but I have seen so many that I can't remember where. If I find it I shall return.

Grips are attached to the bottom of dSLRs. They usually have compartments for more batteries and another shutter button. Basically the second button makes it more comfortable to shoot portrait orientation.

Not only do battery grips add a second shutter button they also add a second function wheel for setting the aperture. I have a BG-E2N on my 40D and I don't think that I could live without it.

Nikon, and Canons high dollar pro bodies have 2 shutter buttons built into the body without a grip.

I've used vertical grips before. They are really much easier to deal with. Makes taking portraits much easier.

I have a grip on my 30D and used it to shoot a jump jam (cyclists jumping over a huge pile of dirt).
