Saralonde,

"I don't think anyone would buy them anyway!"

First time I strongly disagree with one of your views: do you think all those people praising your shots on Flickr are just flattering you? You are so much better than you believe. But I understand the resistance to turn it into some obligatory order-filling task.

I've sold a couple of photos (multiple sales now - woohoo) via iStockPhoto, so looking at doing a little more there. I get the impression that stock photography is different from other photography - but because it is different it also offers the ability to improve your photography. So, I'll probably do some more of it, and if it makes upgrading my gear a little easier in financial terms, then that is fine by me

Im still very-learning, although I love some of the shots I have taken I am not sure what other people think. I suppose the ultimate compliment to any "artist" is that someone is willing to pay money for something that you have created!
I have not sold any, or put any officially for sale, but I have entered some of my stuff into online competitions and I a couple of them have got published.

i haven't sold any, i had a girl come up to me and ask to take some photos of her but i guess she thought i was charging her too much cuz she didn't come back for them haha i didn't print them so that's ok
i think a few could sell i just haven't tried. i agree with the comment above, "fear of rejection" haha
right now i'd rather focus on learning all i can and getting better, in the future i would love to make a living from it, but if you want to buy any of them i'll be more than glad
i want a photographic studio =D or something similar

Not really; though after donating a framed 8x10 to a ski club auction and seeing some decent bidding, I'm thinking more about it.

It'd be nice to have something on relative autopilot; Gallery2 + Digibug seems promising. Does anyone have experience going that route?

Well, I kinda sell my photo's, I am a Real Estate Broker, so I take lots of pictures of homes, It pays to make them look good, the house shopping starts on the internet first and then they call and make appointments to see the house, so I sell them with the picture first and then sell them the house.

Oh JC, you are so sweet! You always make my day with your comments, probably because I value them so much . Still I must say, I like photography for myself. If I tried to turn it into a profit-maker, I think I'd be a totally different photographer.

I've sold a total of like 1 photo that wasn't taken for someone else, and I've sold a graduation photography session with pictures to a friend of mine. So, it's probably a bit presumptuous of me to say I actually sell my photographs. Nobody wants them, but I like them well enough, so that will have to do lol (as a side note I just had about a dozen of my pictures printed as 11x14s, but I have to wait until I visit my parents to see them since they would only ship to the US ).

Heck yeah I sell them. I won't count freelancing, but I've sold photos to the president of my university, student government and family.
