Default I got a new toy (gf-1)

My gf-1 arrived today and i must say i love it...

Thats it sitting next to my samsung gx-10 with 50mm f1.7 lens, The gf-1 + 20mm f1.7 lens is actually smaller than the samsung body without a lens equipped.. its nice to hold and framing using the lcd just reminds me of my first camera (panasonic fz8) except this time its much more advanced and has a fast prime instead of a zoom .

One of the first photos i took was this..

gf1 kourty

No post, direct from camera (apart from rotation... it wont auto rotate images from the 20mm f1.7, i think its because panasonic use info from the OiS wich this lens dosnt have)

I also took a very short video of yoshi...

Congrats!! I'm envious. Especially since you managed to get the 20 prime kit!--that seems to be particularly hard to find right now--both Adorama and B&H have pulled it from their listings, and Amazon is listing it as backordered for a month. Everybody's hoping that Panasonic's not pulling another LX3...

nice, the g10 is a cool camera .. about the same size as the gf1. altho the gf1 has a 4/3d size sensor and changeable lens . it really is like having a small slr

I'm very jealous. The GF1 with the 20mm lens looks like the perfect take anywhere camera. Image quality that no compact can get anywhere near to, high ISO and small DoF no problem, as small as a top of the range compact. I want one.

It seems this type of camera really can fill a gap in the market. I can see an ideal line up being.

Phone camera - On you all of the time, image quality equal to that of a very small compact (not yet but soon)
GF1 (or similar) - Walk around/travel photography camera
Full frame SLR - Pre planned photoshoots

And it costs more. But really, the interchangeable lenses are the reason I didn't go with the GF1 or similar.....I really didn't want to get into another "system" and I really didn't need it.

Still, the low light performance you'll have with the 4/3rds sensor and f1.7 lens is enviable for such a compact camera.
