Hmm...my list is very similar to yours, but sauerkraut? Even my German mom didn't add that to Thanksgiving!

No fresh cranberries and turkeys? Guess you have to be in North America to understand that!

Nicole,
I got the recipe from foodtv.com (Alton Brown). If you have made a custard you can make this pie. It is a really good pie everyone that has tried it loves it.

The potato dumplings are baked in the sauerkraut. It's very, very, tasty. Even if it's not the usual thanksgiving fare, the dumplings make their appearance at all our major holidays.

And seriously, when I asked about either of those items for fresh ones, the guys at the store looked at me like I was growing tentacles or something else equally insane. So, frozen it is.

Sweet, I'm totally off to foodtv to find that recipe right now (not that I'll make it tonight, but if I don't look I'll forget ).

Ok, the cooking is not starting well today... I had a feeling it was going to be this kind of day. The molasses cookies were attacked by the devil duckies making them not turn out at all. (Really, that's my story and I'm sticking to it... it has nothing to do with my cooking... If it did it may tarnish my domestic goddess status or something like that lol)

I'm pretty sure that no cookie should look like this... And I can't say anything for how they tasted, either.

Back to the dessert drawing board...

Nicole,

If you had said that was dark chocolate and caramel, I'd have believed it.

You folks do know what drool does to a keyboard, right? I'm just sayin' . . .

Just wait... it'll all come right in the end... the turkey is in the oven (it's frozen, so seriously, I'm hoping it cooks lol), and I'm starting the dumplings... then I'll have to run to the store to get replacement dessert fixings... it'll all be drool worthy in the end... so cover those keyboards lol
