buy a new camera to celebrate the birthday, and an f/2.8 lens for the thanksgiving.

At the very least, I'd insist on birthday candles on the turducken.

Same as I do for my birthday every year...

Drink half a case of beer or so during the day and then hit the whiskey until I pass out!

But that's just an Aussie tradition (although some people drink rum instead of whiskey), not sure what you usually do over there in the states???

What's thanksgiving anyway?

Basically, people do what you do on your birthday while watching American Rules Football on TV and listening to 'Alice's Restaurant' at noon.

My son has a birthday that sometimes is on Thanksgiving...nothing is done differently. Celebrate the birthday and Thanksgiving the same way we always do!

It was the first meat between Native American Indians & The Pilgrims.
It was also a celebration that they had made it through the rough winter.
As well as celebrating other things.
There is a links to the history of thanksgiving DayThanksgiving on the Net - The Pilgrims and America's First Thanksgiving

Thanks for the replies, rather than hijack the thread with some more questions, I'll start another post after I drop the kid at childcare...
