With all the talk of wedding photography going on, I thought I'd start a thread for people to put up a few pics from their own wedding and maybe (if it's not going too far) get a bit of a discussion about the different photographers style, goodness and the like. I guess you better have the photogs permission/license to use the photos online and the like (I do).
Anyway, here's a few from my wedding about four and a half years ago... ![]() ![]() ![]() At the time I thought they were great. This is the first time I've looked at them since being on this forum and getting into photography in general and I've noticed some shots are a bit under exposed especially the skin tones, but I reckon there's going to be a very fine line between exposing the skin tones and over exposing the dress? Otherwise he did a good job considering it was a very bright summers day in Sydney. What made him really stand out and make us recommend him to all and sundry was his fantastic people skills and being able to deal with all the rellies, he told everyone that he needed to arrange and get his shots and let all the aunties and uncles line up and take their shots after and was generally good with everyone. So, Want to show off some of your own wedding shots? What did you like/dislike about your photog? PS - Mods, feel free to move this to a more appropriate board, I wasn't sure where to put it?

white and direct sunlight is a disaster waiting to happen.
IMHO its one of the hardest things to do well... a white shirt in direct sunlight and then removing the shadows from the face and limbs without blowing out. the biggest problem with the second shot (portrait) is the raccoon eyes.. (shadows). he could have used a touch of flash to lighten that up at least. obviously little or no PP went into these and i wouldn’t call these acceptable as they are now, technically.. but thats just me. but nice memories anyway, technicalities aside.. my story? he paid a guy we knew with a big white lens and camera. another family member turned up with another dslr/flash (i wasnt into photography at that time) who was supposedly quite into photography. from both of them, no direction & poor communication, didnt even cue us when to smile.. most of the pics have us all looking in different directions... uugh sadly our friends hired him too and he did the same thing. no communication. My wife was a bridesmaid .. so she saw the full repeat performance. from both of them put together.. we have maybe four acceptable images. any idiot with a p&s could have done what they did.

Yeah, it was about one in the afternoon, a bit tough. But as you mentioned a bit of fill flash in the right place could have fixed that
There's no PP on the images on the disk, but he PP'd everything for print. One day I'll do a bit myself and get some more printed ![]() Candleman - That's not good, communication really makes a difference. As I mentioned, our guys people skills are what really stood out. candidrachel - That's sad to hear, suicide is fairly common and apparently on the rise in America. When I first read "Our photographer committed suicide! Seriously! He was brilliant.." I thought you were going to say before you got your photos!

Well, here are two from mine. Twenty-two years ago this saturday! The photographer was the local newspaper photographer and very experienced and obviously then, shot with film. Sadly he is dead now.
The 'day' was the week before the UK Great Storm of 87 and outside it was pouring with rain and was really dark. Luckily the vicar said we could have the photos inside the church and considering that most wedding pictures are taken outside, I think he did a good job and made the best out of an awful situation. The quality of the pictures is down to my scanning (ie dust etc) Finally, the years haven't been kind and I don't look like that anymore! ![]() ![]()
