Default Slight rant...

*cracks neck*

OK, so I go regularly to a popular park in Tennessee called Dollywood. Well, they have these hired photographers throughout the park that will take your photo. If you even walk within a few feet of them they go, "Step over here...". It's not like they even ASK you, they demand "Step over here". Plus they hound you for a photo. It would be different if they were nice about it. Also, they don't tell you that you have to PAY for these photos! I can't remember specifically (I tune them out) what the price was but it is something outrageous. Finally I got tired of it. I spotted a photographer nearby, and I just knew that she was going to want to take a photo. I had my 50D proudly strung about my neck as I neared.......

Photog: "Step over here and I'll take your photo!"

Me: *Flashing my camera 'hey dummy'* "Uh no, I don't charge much as you, but I'll take YOUR photo!!!!"

Photog: "NO, I've been doing this for 20yrs........blah blah *her voice fades into the background...*"

Ok, I'm done...

20 years taking pictures of people at Dollywood that's pathetic. At least that's what I would have told them.

Well, I don't know if she meant 20yrs at Dollywood (not even sure if it's been around that long) or just 20yrs of photography in general. Either way, I really do not care....

Plus, they use Nikon, pfssss. lol

I think they are a fairly recent addition, like within the past few years.

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, but next time they want to take my photo, I'll be as nice as possible and hand them MY camera to take the shot!!!!!!

They do that at the Memphis Zoo and we have to tell them "thanks but no thanks" and keep walking. It's an easy way for the park to make tons of money and just be thankful that's not your job

They have been doing this at Canada's Wonderland in Ontario for at least 20 years. On the plus side, they did have the option to print your photo on a ton of different items, including some sort of keychain kaleidoscope thing, way before you could get your picture printed on a T-Shirt, mousepad, cake and whatever else you can buy now.

It was quite popular with my friends when I was 16
