Default Nunber of Acutations?

Is there anywhere in the camera settings you can go to find the actual number of acutations on the camera?
I'm the 3rd owner of my Rebel XT and was just curious...

Dunno about a specific place, but this always works for me.
Take a shot, and review it, see the number at the top, for example just to throw a random number out there 4959 and that number tells you how many shot's (acutations) your camera has had.

Right now mine is at 5,2xx something but I changed the in camera settings so it would be "continuous" when I bought it.
So I suppose there is no way of knowing if it wasn't set to "continuous" from day 1 is there?

Well I googled and one of the results was this
Quote:
1- Put the card in the reader.
2 - Open the card in Bridge or directly in Photoshop.
3 - In Photoshop click File
4 - Scroll down to File Info (not pictured)
5 - Scroll down to Advanced
6 - Scroll down to the 4th section and open it up
7- Go to Advanced
8 - Jackpot of info including image number, lens info, flash compensation etc.
They claim that counter is all true, never tried it since I'm the first owner of my camera so I know that I have taken Xnumber of shot's and the counter hasn't been reset or anything.

Download the Opanda iExif viewer and when you open up a picture in it, one of the last lines is
Number of shutter releases for the camera. The software is very small and free.

Exif viewer : Opanda IExif - Professional EXIF / GPS / IPTC Viewer & Editor in Windows, IE & Firefox

Short of sending it into Canon, I don't think there's a method that will give you accurate information for that camera.

+1. It is a well-known fact for the XT. EXIF works with Nikon and Canon 1D series.

Thanks for all the replies guys/gals. I'll just assume it has somewhere in the realm of 10,000 plus acutations.

Opanda only works with Nikon for viewing shutter releases. I know, I tried it before.
