Default Great Photography Spots

The long and short of it is my son is starting kindy (daycare) 2 days a week, and I am going to use the time I have to myself (for the first time in 15 months!) to get out and take some pictures. The thing is, I'm trying to get some ideas on good places to go shooting! I'm in Australia, on the Gold Coast. Just wondering a couple of things 1. if you're from the area or have been to the area, where do you recommend? I'm open to beach or hinterland. 2. has there ever been a discussion on here about having a section to chat with people from the same area as you? I'll admit, I haven't done much searching of the forums before asking that question, so forgive me if its out there already, probably blatantly in front of my nose no less. Cheers!

you can create a social group if you like.....or you can join this one if it suits your need.....to explore this area, just click on the community link found on most of the pages here and choose social groups.....

hope that helped...

I haven't been to the Coast for AGES, what about walking through Surfers taking photos of tourists taking photos

Got any BIG lenses? You could take pics of people surfing? Otherwise, I'd be inclined to head for the hills. It's beautiful up there, sure you could find plenty of animals as well as landscapes.

EDIT - Try searching Surfers Paradise on Flickr

Or even join the The Gold Coast Group

Thanks Free! I might try and find some kite surfers, though not sure how many will be out during the week. At least in Surfers I would fit in with the tourists, carrying around a camera and snapping everything! Thanks for the link to the flickr group. I had joined a Gold Coast group but its fairly inactive. This one looks great!
