Default How could I use raise money for cancer by involving photography?

I am really getting into photography and I was wanting to do something involving photography to raise money for Cancer. My grandmother had breast cancer twice and then finally died of liver cancer. I love to do something to raise money for the cure, but what?

How could I put the photography to use?
What are somethings I could do?

Any ideas would be great!

Check into regulations for holding a photography contest with an entry fee. Proportion a small amount of the entry fees for some prize (something useful but not too expensive, maybe a gift card/certificate to a photography store or frame shop), and donate the rest to the research charity of your choice. Try to schedule it around one of the many events communities have for cancer awareness, like the upcoming Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure or future events. You might need to get some volunteers to help you with judging, but that shouldn't be too big of a problem You are in Tennessee after all (GO VOLS!)

Thanks Jim! I didn't even think about doing something like that. Maybe I could also get some photographers and host some kind of art gallery showing or something. Thanks for the idea!

That was going to be one of my next suggestions. Get with the planners of one of these events and see if you could set up a sale/auction of prints of your work. I'm sure other photogs would be happy to offer up some of their work for such a cause.

That's a great idea! I hope I can raise some money. It's something I always wanted to do but haven't been able to yet.
