Default husband and wife thing

just wondering for those of you who do your busineess ventures in photography as a husband and wife team....
did only one of you start with photography and the other joined after, or were both of you into it???

im just wondering how that worked out for some people.

My wife, Amy, and I have been working together for the past 20 years. She does most of my web page building, upkeep and maintenance of the site and up loads images. I call her my image master. She's the best damn editor I ever had and not afraid to tell me when an image sucks. She also does a lot of my pping, which leaves me time for shooting. She's a real god send and has supported my photography for going on 29 years now. Now, if I'd just listen to her more than I do.

My wife just tells me to photograph something and then gets mad when I didn't shoot it the way (usually lame) she wants it. I pretty much just hand her the camera and tell her to go to town.

Oh I would love my husband and I to one day be a team! He takes awesome photos. In fact sometimes we race each other to get to the same vantage point! One day in the future I'd like to do a wedding where I am at the brides house taking photos of her getting ready and he's at the grooms house doing the same.

I keep trying to talk him into going part-time but he can't as its written into his work contract that he can't take on another job. Its a shame.

I had to laugh at Max. That's happened to me before. It was one of my kids birthdays and wanted my hubby to take a pic of me and my son around the cake while he blows out the candles and he took it at completely the wrong angle (imo) so I had to re-light the candles and do it again myself

I love hearing these stories! I'd love my husband to help me. He has a natural eye. but isn't particularly interested in diving in deeper. He has learned the basics though

Yes, Amy and I have gone on many an assignment together. It normally works out well......she really pays attention to details that I sometimes don't notice as I have my stuck behind the camera looking for different angles using a variety of focal lengths. Sometimes, more often that not, she'll see something else for me to shoot.

thats awsome guys.
ive talked more to my husband about this and he's willing to give it a shot. hes got this creative side to him too and i think if he just actually took it into his hands he would do great.

i want him to come along with me one day and sort of be my "Assistant". hes willing to learn enough for that. hes got his own company to run but seems willing to try this with me.
we'll see where this goes. i might be onto something or maybe not.
you never know......
