Question How about BC?

The Canadian one is helpful, but I never go to Toronto, lol. Anyone have any links or info for BC? I frequently go up to Vancouver. I did have a friend who was yelled at by a security guard for taking a picture of an apartment building... from across the street! She was nowhere near their property. (She was getting a memento because the X-files used the building for AD Skinner's apt in an episode) I'd like to know before I head back up weekend after next.
Thanks!
Meg

Default Petition for "Rights of Professional and Amateur Photographers"

Dear Friends,

I have just read and signed the online petition:

"Rights of Professional and Amateur Photographers"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/ausphoto/

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.

Default More on NZ Photography

*bump* Another link came up in a NZ group I belong to. This more relates to copyright and model releases, but thought I'd throw the info onto this thread for anyone who might be interested.

Default Photographers Rights | UK | US | AUS

I'm sure it has happened to a lot of us?

You've set up your tripod or are taking a photo handheld when a security person of some description approaches you and asks you what you're doing and to move along... The following is a guide to UK, US and Aus based amateur photographers rights... I hope this helps some of us to understand what we are and are not allowed to do, where we're allowed to do it and so on...

UNITED KINGDOM
Here is a link to a website belongong to Simon Moran, the page has some decent information and also has a link to a PDF named "UKPhotographersRights" You can download the document directly, below...

The guide is intended as an overview of the current legal situation in the UK for photographers, it is not a definitive bible of UK law.

Here is the pdf (right click, save as)

UNITED STATES
On this page you will find a US site run by Bert P. Krages a US attorney, outlining different laws and guidelines for photographers, I have been in touch with Bert, who was happy for me to link to his pages. (please do not copy the content for your own use)

HERE you will find Berts legal handbook for photographers and HERE you will find the photographers right downloadeable flyer (right click, save as)

AUSTRALIA
Here a link to an Australian website with some "guidelines"

Please keep in mind that these are ONLY guidlines, but that they have been written in all three cases by somebody that is either an active legal professional or has been an active legal professional.

If you require more information please contact your local legal professional.

I am sorry that this info is limited to only UK, US and Australia... please feel free to post links to your own "guidelines" in your local country / area...
