I am pretty new to digital photography, and being that I am not naturally organized, I realize that I have to really get into the habit of sticking to a system for saving my images.
Right now I import them through Lightroom where I develop and tweak them. Then I export a jpeg sized for the web to a folder on my computer (outside of lightroom). What I don;t understand is, and this may sound really dumb, where are the dng files being saved? I see a folder with lots of dngs with no thumbnails or names, is this because dng files can only be opened in Lightroom or PS? Should I be doing something with the DNG files besides just organizing them in LR? Thanks! |

Make sure you check your settings.
Personally, my workflow is this: 1. Open Lightroom, import from device (CR2 files) to a assigned folder 2. Process images 3. Export full res. JPEGs to a folder No DNGs, no other files concerned. Just two files per image. |

When I import the files in LR, they are automatically being converted into DNG files...you are saying that I should remove that setting?
Sorry if I sound daft, I'm just not getting it. I can't figure out what and where the images I am seeing in LR are. I am searching other threads as we speak so that no one will have to repeat info. Thanks so much for your help! |
