Talking State Fair Ideas

Alright, so I am going to the Puyallup Fair tonight, and am wondering if any of you have ideas on what to photograph. I already plan on the farris wheel, but some other ideas that you can usually find at a fair would be great. Oh, and by the way, I am going to be there at dusk and night. I am really looking forward because this will be my first night time photography trip, with taking pictures as my number one priority. So if you have any ideas, or things that work out for you, or any tips or do not's please let me know. And I know it's last minute, and I apoligize.

Thanks a bunch,
Joshua

Be sure to take a tripod and if you have it, a remote. The tilt-o-whirl is always a good one as they usually spin pretty fast. By the way, if you don't have a remote, use the timer.

Screaming faces and flying hair make the BEST pics LOL

I can imagine so. I never thought of trying to capture some candid shots of people on rides.

Just got back from the fair. And of course, stupid me forgot to charge my stinkin' batteries since the last time I used my camera. I was so pissed! lol Thank goodness it is suppose to be nice out all weekend. I'll get some pictures up that i was able to take before my batteries died completley later.

Oh I'm jealous! I would love to take pics of fairground rides. The other posters have some great ideas. There was a fair in my town the other day and it was rubbish! I walked round the whole thing in 10 minutes! Thats the trouble where I live out in the sticks

In the Understanding Exposure book there is a great shot of a ferris wheel taken with a 20mm lens, f/16 for 1 sec.

Good luck and don't forget to post your photos.
