Default I just sent a CF card through a washing machine...

and a dryer. It still had the pictures on it when I put it back in the camera afterwards, and works perfectly (so far).

I think this is a good reason for DSLRS to keep using CF over SD (although who knows, an SD card might have fared the same way).

Anyone else had this, or something similar, happen?

Wow, that's impressive. I wouldn't trust it for any important event though!

It happens all the time, to both CF and SD cards. I've never heard of anyone ever having any trouble with the cards afterward.

I ran my entire case of SD cards thru the washer, and I'm still using them.

Haven't washed my CF cards yet thou.

I once washed a really old 50 dollar bill and by the end of the washing and drying cycle the stupid bill just crumbled in my hands. Took it to the bank and they wouldn't accept it.

I left a cf card outside overnight once. The next day dried it off from the morning dew and set it on the kitchen table for a few days to make sure it dried out.... it had corrosion on it after those two days.

CF cards are pretty durable. I've washed and dried a few of mine and they still work.
