Question You own the world's last roll of film....

What are you gonna shoot?

I'm trying to boost creativity so I'm trying new things. I'll go on a photowalk, and only take 1 picture. As if it's gonna be my last. Or I'm only using 1 roll of film's worth of digital. It's forcing me to not be so snap happy. At a wedding this weekend, normally I would have shot a couple hundred (as a guest),, but this time I only shot 50. They all turned out great. So that got me thinking.....

If you DPS readers had the world's last roll of film (or owned rights to the last 24 pictures or so).....what would you want to shoot?

Knowing myself I'd be most inclined to shoot the inside of the lens cap 24 times.

LMAO I did this using my holga at the sand dunes this weekend. Only lost two frames doing this but annoying and I felt pretty stupid.

Sometimes I do that with my camera - I feel like an idiot, and quickly take the lens cap off, checking no one saw

I would probably shoot something about life at that moment in time - no idea how I'd do it though!

Nothing like standing in the French Quarter in New Orleans in PERFECT lighting, teasing it up with a reflector and of course, a Mardi Gras mask on for several shots - and several odd looks and realizing as you're developing them that the dark slide was still in the Kiev.

Been there, done that, my hubby's still mad about that.

His answer "instead of grabbing the Hasselblad, we grab the Kiev and shoot the whole roll with the dark slide in, Hasselblad is at least idiot-proof"

And leaving the cap on the Holga, we've done that one, too - but forgot to wind it, so we just shot the shot again

There is something to be said for SLR's and the "what you see is what you take a picture of" mindset...

LMFAO
nothing like maxharvard but to give his us his funny comments good one!

i probably wouldnt forget to take my lens cap off considering its not on most of the time (silly me) but id probably end up ruining all 24 shots by having my settings all retarted and having extreemly blow out pictures like this lovely weekend at the air show. oh how stupid of me i couldnt even tell my husband. i probably still wouldnt hear the end of it. so note to self and others - ALWAYS ALWAYS check your setting before you walk from inside a building to outside a building

*slaps her forhead*

anyways - but seriously - if i had the 24 shots it would probably be of people that are most important in my life.

That's is an interesting idea. Unlike some people that are new to photography I have actually shot film. I still do every once in a while, a few times a year. I find that while shooting film I take more time with setting up the shots and they usually come out better. However I do find that I take photos that I am comfortable taking. While shooting digital and not worrying about how many exposures that I can take, I experiment more and expand my skills.

To answer the question though I would probably take some of the Wife and dog, some of the family, and probably some land- city- or waterscapes.

I'd probably try to take pictures that represented life as it was.

For example, why did I have the last roll of film? Was there some large disaster or oppressive world government that destroyed/banned the use of film/cameras?

If so, I'd try to demonstrate life during the time, tell a story so that the most important pictures perhaps in the history of the world would be something beneficial to the viewer, not just me and my family, who are strangers to most and who's names would be forgotten eventually anyway.

Was that too deep? haha I don't know. That's just honestly how i feel.
