That is why (D)SLRs are so good. You know if the lens cap is on before you press the shutter!

Default Some great answers!

There are some great answers so far. I think if it were the last roll of film (for whatever reason:shortage, disaster...) I would try and preserve the image of things that are about to become extinct. For instance, old architecture, a couple of animals. I might even try to get the worlds largest group photograph. Attempting to get thousands of people from every continent inside the frame.

Talking Last Roll?

Come on?! Family? What about the pyramids of Egypt and other wonders of the world? Nobody else is going to care what my family looks like that I would waste the film on snapshots of BettyLou Hasselfeffer.

If so, I'd try to demonstrate life during the time, tell a story so that the most important pictures perhaps in the history of the world would be something beneficial to the viewer, not just me and my family, who are strangers to most and who's names would be forgotten eventually anyway.

Was that too deep? haha I don't know. That's just honestly how i feel.
Wow, I like this one.

I would probably go shoot 24 waterfalls. And make extra sure of my settings before I shoot.

Default I'd put it on eBay

I too would put the last roll on eBay after a suitable buzz campaign. Then I'd update my gear with something useful while some monomaniac would spend an inane amount of money just to brag about it.

While shooting digital and not worrying about how many exposures that I can take, I experiment more and expand my skills.

To answer the question though I would probably take some of the Wife and dog, some of the family, and probably some land- city- or waterscapes.
Yeah...I broke out my film about a month ago...still don't know what the pics look like because I keep forgetting to take it to be developed!

I'd probably let someone who was a very good photographer do something with it.

Hmmm. I'd be tempted to take a picture of the world's last photographer... How many of those are there likely to be?

I would have to take pictures of my grandchildren - twin boys. If travel is an option, then taking them to 24 different locations to use as background would be good. But they are too funny and way too important in my life to not take their pictures. Unless you want to buy my roll of film...?

If I had the worlds last roll of film I'd be wasted.....I dont have any Film cameras!
If I did I would have no clue what to shoot with it....Maybe a bunch of random people with all their heads cut off.....
