Hi everyone, I'm brand new, both here and to photography. I've obviously snapped pictures before, but the real love for it and the desire to learn is brand new. I'm a stay at home mom who just wants to take good pictures of her family and the world around her...pretty simple. Any ideas of where I should start? I just got a new digital camera...nothing very fancy. Kodak Easy Share z1485 IS. For now I've just been using it in the auto settings, but would love to do more with it. I'm thinking the place for me to start for now is with composition...does that sound right? Then once I have that down then move on to something else. You can see my pictures at the link above...would love any constructive criticism on what can be done to improve compositon. Thanks, Essy |

If you want to understand the custom/manual settings on your camera I would suggest getting the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson.........a super place to start. It was the first puchase I made after getting my dslr but I know had i read that i could have taken much better pictures with my fuji p/s 's custom settings.
This is a super place to learn, study what is shared and suggested and take part in the contests and things.
