So, what do you forget to check when taking photographs?
For me I always forget to boost my ISO in low light situations, especially indoors. Plus, sometimes I get so focused on getting the exposure and ... um, focus right I forget to check that the shot is level in the viewfinder even though I have gridlines to help out with that. Just curious what nits pick on people when they are out shooting. Plus, I'm hoping that writting about about helps me remember it more often.

ISO if the available light is high for me. So many of my shoots are done for the school paper at night games that I have to jack it all the way up to get a decent shutter speed.

I classically once forgot to put my CF card back in the camera before leaving the house. After upgrading I have a spare now which is always in the bag so, fingers crossed & touch wood etc, that shouldn't happen again

I am famous for walking out the door with camera and all my gear in hand, except for my memory card which is safely sitting in the computer!
I finally bought a spare to keep in my camera bag for such occasions because it is a pain when you are 40 miles out and are all set up and ready to go and your camera says NO CARD.

Hehe. I hadn't even considered forgetting the digital "film", but I did do that once. Luckily, my camera strap has a holder for two spare cards which I always have filled. So, all I missed that time was my high speed card for uploading to my computer afterwards.
Several years ago one of my uncles was on leave and visiting his parents in Minnesota during a winter. He saw a big, bull moose in the yard, grabbed his camera and went out on the porch to take a picture. The moose got spooked by the sound of the door and ran in the nearby woods. My uncle then preceded to chase after it through the snowy Minnesota backwoods and fields for the next hour or two. When he got back to the house he noticed he didn't have any film in the camera. I think he caught a cold too because he forgot his jacket as well.

Lately since joining threesixtyfive and fiftytwo, I've been taking a lot of self-portraits. If my remote control doesn't work in a situation, I set my self-timer. More then once I have all the settings ready to go for something other then a self-portrait, just to have the "beep-beep-beep" of the self-timer getting ready. I have to stop, set it back on single shot, and start again. Drives me crazy!

me I always forget to make sure my lens don't have smudges on them or the filters I use. I use lots of filters usually and I change lens often I can't tell you how many images I've lost to smudges you dont notice them on the lcd until you get into photoshop then your like damn it.
