My 18-200VR just caught the Swine Flu :(
My 18-200 VR lens is sick, and I think she caught the H1N1 flu. At first she was just a little stiff, mostly when moving around the 70mm area. Then she started to shudder even when I did not have the shutter pressed halfway. I was looking through the view finder and the image started to wobble as if the VR was activating like crazy with no camera motion.
Packed her up and shipped her to Nikon this morning.

Lenses have firmwares as well but only Olympus and Panasonic have updates for their lenses. Maybe the new Nikon Imaging Systems unit will make them upgradeable.

Just got my lens back, they replaced the entire VR mechanism and replaced the rubber zoom ring which was slightly loose and stretched.

They fixed it under the extended warranty - it was about 2.5 years old.

sick lens
glad its fixed kirbinster i have sent my tamron 28 300 away for the same reasons .3 weeks without my favorite lense is driving me nuts.the 20mm just doesnt do the job at all
