Sounds silly, but the ordinary.

If you want a challenge, find a way to make forks beautiful. Or a stack of books. Take something incessantly ordinary that you might have around your house and make the most of it.

You might get crap for returns, but it forces you to think about things differently. Plus, you may get something fantastic that you never knew was there.

The Weather Assignment is up .

Other than that, try playing with lighting, simple objects, waterdrops, self-portraits.

Self portraits using the window as your light source - when it's grey outside you get a nice soft light.

Get some floor lamps set up around your sink, and try water droplet shots.

Alternately, I like the idea of finding a single everyday object and making it look amazing.

Some good ideas here so far, keep them coming. Not so sure about the self portrait though I'm shy & dont want to put people of their food.

When I first started photography I read somewhere that in order to be good you need to be different than other photographers. So while most photographers would stay inside due to the weather, maybe get an umbrella and some plastic to protect your gear and go out and see what you can get?

You can definitely get some unique and different shots in inclement weather. I read a book by one photographer who said his best shots have come on rainy days. The wind may present a challenge for you, but again, if you want to be different...

As for shooting inside, get some incense and try doing some smoke art shots.

How could I possibly tell you more than what Ken suggested!! wow. Will have to bookmark this thread!
Do you have a pet? If so, dress em up! Take a self portrait and put a different background in.
Go play in the What Would You Do section!
