Default Updated Portfolio Website

I didn't see a forum specifically for this side of things, so I'll post here for now...

I've just re-vamped my website and I'd like to know what you think about it and the content.

bryanmansell.co.uk: photography

It was made in an app called Plogger (Plogger | open source photo gallery PHP script | free image gallery script)

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Cheers,

DHG.

*clicks link*

There's no front-end to your website. It's just straight into the galleries. In fact, the page that loads on the click looks like a bad attempt at a splash page

Once in the galleries, though, it works. It's just too much of a stand-alone item: it needs to be integrated into a proper website. Your photos are wonderful and certainly look good. I jsut think there's alot lacking.

One minor thing I'd change is the borders on the images and the treasure-trail navigation. The borders dont need to be there: you already have a border on the website, having an even larger border just makes the image smaller. The navigation is a good idea, i would just change the last element to be the title and not the filename for that image.

I'd remove the search bar: it has no use on something of this size.

Overall, it's clean and well executed (thank Plogger for that) but it's lacking a TON of stuff, like an actual website. This feels more like a photodump than a portfolio.

Thanks for the feedback!

I do agree on certain points, I don't like the fact you have to click through the first page I think it is redundant. I will change that, and I will take onboard your comment about showing the filename.

I have made the images intentionally smaller to stop them being copied (or at least usable if they are copied) since some of the images are for sale on other sites and I don't want people getting them for free.

If you could clarify what extras you think are missing it would be helpful, since I really have no idea what else I would need on there.

Once again, thanks for the feedback!

There's having smaller images, and having thumbnails. You have the latter, even with your "full-size" images.

Im looking for an About page, a Contact page, maybe a news page. As I said, the site has no entry way: there's no front-door to the site. It needs SOMETHING before you get into the galleries head on.

I've uploaded a few more images, any feedback would be great!

I've used larger images in all the new albums, but left my 'best of' as small as i really don't want then getting pinched.

Still more work to do, but any feedback on the new images would be appreciated

Cheers,

DHG

Awesome photos. I especially loved the ones of Glasgow - I'm English & lived in Kirkintilloch for a year back in 1999-2000. Loved it there. Glasgow is a very special city, & I love the west coast of Scotland in general.
